Duty Descriptions

Uniforms/Water/ Supervise:

Before Game: Arrive at 6pm. Take the water cooler to get water if it doesn’t have any water in it.  Make sure the cups, water pitcher, trash bags, and crowd control materials are on the same yellow cart. Once that is finished  go the uniform closet help hand out uniforms, hats, plums, and gauntlets to students.  As students are getting dressed make sure students are wearing long black socks, black marching shoes, have black gloves, jackets are zipped up and pinned closed at the top, they have the white collars on, they have the gauntlets (sleeves) on, they have their hat (names are on the inside of the hats), and the hat has a plum (feather).

Pregame: While the band is on the field for pregame, leave the cooler at the top bleacher in the band section.  Get cups out and fill them with water so when the band comes to the stands after pregame they can grab a water.

During the Game: Supervise the students making sure they don’t leave and others don’t enter the band section. Refill cups if students want more water.

Halftime: Help set up the pit instruments- Mrs. Batts has the diagram.

End of Game:  Get the trash bags and pick up the trash from the band section.  When we come back inside one person should stand at the door of the uniform closet and check students bags to make sure the uniforms are hung up properly.

Props/Pit Instruments/Storm Center:

Before Game: Go over checklist and make sure all items are loaded on the yellow carts and taken to the stadium.  The water cooler cart should contain the water cooler, cups, trash bags, water pitcher, and crowd control.  One cart should have the storm center items and the last cart should have the pit instruments.  The guard may need to put their flags on one of the carts.  One person should be in charge of taking the podium.  Two or more people may be needed to take the backdrop.  You will need to make several trips to the stadium.

Storm Center: Mr. Parrish will bring the tent and table.  Two people will be need to run it.  Whoever is in charge should get the money box from Mrs. Batts. Keep a close watch on the box because there is petty cash inside.

Pregame: The podium needs to be set up on the 50 yard line for the national anthem. After the band finishes, the podium needs to be moved in front of the band section in the stadium (Taylor uses it to conduct the band in the stands).

Halftime: Two people are needed for the backdrop.  The backdrop should be assembled on the track while the band is marching to the field.  When the band marches on the field carry the backdrop from the 30 yard line to the back hash of the 50 yard line and set it up there.  Two or more people (get water people) are needed to set up the pit percussion and drum line stands.  They should be set up according to the diagram that Mrs. Batts will give you.  After the band performs disassemble and place back in the carts.

End of game: Take all items back to the band room.
