I wanted to remind you that there will be a mandatory meeting for all parents and students attending the trip to Orlando on Monday, March 7. We will discuss the schedule, rules, and other related items to the trip. We will also discuss which park we will visit on Friday. We can only go to one park a day and Saturday we will be in the Magic Kingdom, where we perform in the parade. The options for Friday are:
Students will vote on which park they would like to go to. Please visit the links to find out what the different parks offer.
Also the $32 payment is due Friday, March 11th. If you want to use band bucks make sure you fill out the form off the website: www.sgband.org
Thursday, March 17
Dinner begins @ 6:30
Show begins @ 7pm
Tickets are $10 for dinner and show and show only tickets are $5
The ticket sales have already began. We have 20 sold. Our goal is at least 100 dinner tickets. Remember that sales will continue until Friday, March 11. If everyone sells at least 2 we should be able to make our goal.
We also need students and parent volunteers to make the event successful.
Thank you to those who have donated items for door prizes. We have some great gift bags from Mrs. Elcock and Mrs. Parrish has also brought some great donations as well. Thank you!
Starting Mon. March 7, we will begin rehearsals for West Side Story Pit members. This is not a whole band event. Only certain upper class members have been chosen to participate due to the difficulty of the music.
Thursday, March 17th: Dinner and a Show Concert. All Concert Band members are required to participate and perform in the concert. This is a large portion of their 3rd quarter grade.
Tuesday, March 22nd: All Pep Band Members will perform at SG Middle School Faculty vs. Students Basketball game. Students should meet at 6:30pm at the middle school with their instruments, wearing their Band Polo! This is a great opportunity for us to recruit band members for next year! It is also a lot of fun to play pep tunes.
Thurs. March 31st – April 2nd : Band trip to Orlando.
Sorry for the large amount of information. We have a lot going on and I want to keep you informed.
