Treasures report was given by Loretta Fredere and approved as read.

President Sheryl turned the meeting over to Mrs. Batts.

Discussed Chili’s Nights – preliminary numbers are that we will receive about $130 (10% of $1,300) the manager at Chili’s was very pleased with our turnout.  They would like to see us do this again.  Discussed dates, we would like to schedule Nov. 1, Dec. 6 and Jan 3 (first Tuesday in each month) for Chili’s Nights.

Mrs. Hawkins sold baked items in the common area after school yesterday.  She donated all the baked goods and raised $35.17.  Band members are going to sell the remaining items over the next couple days after school.

Band will be traveling with the chorus group toWashingtonDC.  The Parent letter, itinerary and contract were presented to parents/students.  Trip is scheduled for March 23 – March 26.  March 26 is a teacher workday.  Parents and students will pay the same amount.  Question was asked if parents can drive and what the cost would be if they drive.  Also, one parent was to do activities only because she can stay with family near by.  Mrs. Batts will consult with chorus director to confirm if this is possible and cost.

Fundraiser Discussion

We don’t want to overload everyone with fundraisers but we are in need of funds.

  1. Wrapping up Attraction Books.  If all books are not turned in by Friday, Boosters will charge the student account.  No books will be accepted as returned after Friday, Oct. 10.
  2. T-shirt sale – will close out Oct. 10.  Items must be paid for when ordered.  Profit goes to band general account.
  3. Organic Coffee packaged $30 each.  No one was in favor of this idea.
  4. World’s Finest Chocolate – will begin selling this in the next couple weeks.  All profit will go to the student (less freight charge for shipping).
  5. Yard Sale/Bazaar – November 12 – received approval to use the gym but we cannot have access until 12:30 pm because of girl’s basketball practice.  We are going to see if we can use facilities at Sumner Elementary or Concord Friends (Old Randleman Rd).  All booth rental fees will go to the band general account.  Mrs. Batts also presented an info sheet for each booth renter to complete on size of space needed and contact information.
  6. Corporate Sponsors – Amanda and Charlie drafted a sponsorship letter.  Letter was reviewed and approved.

Senior Night – Oct 28 boosters will get flowers for each Senior Band Member (10 seniors)

Meeting was adjourned.
